Don’t mind me–I’m just clearing out my library-related RSS feeds:
- Library Journal has published its 2008 Placements & Salary Survey [1].
- On a not unrelated note, my alma mater (University of Michigan School of Information) has just released its 2007 MSI Employment Report [2]. I think the breakdown provided here by industry does put some of the comments about UM in the Library Journal article into better perspective.
- The Social OPAC now has its own website [3].
- The LII has merged into the IPL [4].
- Librarians–especially those who work with teens–are buzzing about the Pew Internet & American Life report on teens and video games [5]. Most of the report’s observations aren’t news to those of us who work with teens, but it is gratifying to see our anecdotal experiences backed up by broader research. I liked The Shifted Librarian’s take on this report the accompanying report on the civic potential of video games [6].
I suspect I had more interesting library-related links, but they were probably lost when I accidentally hit the “mark all read” button in Google Reader last week. Oops! (Wish there was an undo button for that.)
