Ten titles to watch for in 2010

twinspica1.jpgEveryone else did their list of what they’re looking forward to in January, but let’s just pretend I’m doing this for Lunar New Year! In the interests of brevity, I’m limiting myself to sequential art series or standalone titles being published in the US for the first time in 2010 and significant reissues.

  • Arikawa, Hiro. Library Wars: Love and War. (Viz)
  • CLAMP. Kobato. (Yen Press)
  • Fujieda, Toru. Dragon Girl. (Yen Press)
  • Kanata, Konami. Chi’s Sweet Home. (Vertical)
  • Midorikawa, Yuki. Natsume’s Book of Friends. (Viz) — already out!
  • Shiga, Jason. Meanwhile: Pick Any Path. 3,865 Story Possibilities. (Amulet)
  • Yaginuma, Kou. Twin Spica. (Vertical)
  • Yang, Belle. Forget Sorrow: An Ancestral Tale. (Norton)
  • Yoneda, Kou. No Touching at All. (DMP)
  • Yoshinaga, Fumi. Not Love but Delicious Food. (Yen)

And out of all of these, I’m looking forward to Twin Spica the most. (Note to self: place pre-order.) And I’m also eager to see what books not on this list end up surprising me anyway.

What are you looking forward to this year?
